  1. "It really does seem to be a handy machine, Betty. Perhaps, I'm just an old fashion, country girl but I like how I did things before. I was a lot more used to it. Still, if that is how things are done here, I should adapt to it. Shouldn't I? Is it possible to read "The Daily Planet" or, that the other paper I noticed briefly, "The Daily Bugle" on this machine or am I supposed to buy a paper? What about radio or TV? Could this tell you what store is next door or walking distance from here for restaurants and stores? To the library? I do like to read real books. Especially, Sherlock Holmes. I really don't believe I can travel anywhere in this city and it may not safe for me to go there. I've heard stories where a young lady like is mugged and worse." Linda paused and asked Betty. "Do you think I should create an email address? What could it be? Should my name in it at all? Do post offices exist in this city? Have they stopped delivering mail?"
  2. "This looks like science fiction to me, Betty.", Linda told her. "I have noticed you typing but where do you put in the typing paper? I don't see any rollers at all. I'm an excellent typist and I do enjoy typing up my English homework and letters. I might have to type up some business letters too. Wish I had my typewriter with me but that is gone also now. Would this thing come up with a restaurant coupon too or tell you what is playing at the movie theater or what play is in town? Cooking recipes? How much information is in there for one to use? I feel real stupid with this technology. Perhaps, I am a backward, country girl. Why do I feel like I am going to mess up and fail in high school? I am really am smart but simply ignorant at the same time. Does that make sense to you, Betty?"
  3. Linda Lee was a bit confused. "Betty, is it okay to print coupons? My mother, used to use scissors to cut coupons from a newspaper if she something she liked. Sometimes, the grocery store had them when you walked inside. What you are doing is new to me. Is this legal? Websites??? Discount codes??? I feel stupid." In her mind, Kara was telling herself that she hated this jumping Earth to Earth and various time periods and culture and different technologies. Now she has to relearn all over again in order to fit in correctly. This was not the type of computer you just talk to and it talked back to you. This was quite primitive but functional. She had to be taught to use this the right way. On some Earths, there weren't any computers at all. They were never invented.
  4. "Oh, I do treasure every memory, Betty, every single one of them. When I do, they do make me very sad because I can never go back to once was. You sure it is okay if I come here if I am feeling down? I truly hate to be a bother to you. "Perhaps, you can teach me how to collect the right coupons that I would need here i""n this city. How did you get so many cards and coupons? Do restaurants have coupons? What about practical items like food and toilet tissue?" "I am sure am glad I met you Betty so that I am not alone. I am quite grateful that you'll introduce me to these other teenagers tomorrow. They may help me at high school and gain new friends. Being alone is no fun at all. You are a Godsend to me. Thank you very much for becoming my friend. I really do appreciate that."
  5. As Linda picked up the bags, she clarified to Betty. "It wasn't that hard to do to lift up that back end. Anyone could do it who is in good shape. It was just a little old go cart. It wasn't like a normal size car or a truck or something." "How much money do I need for the bus? Is it free at all? I would love to purchase my own car if possible. It would have to be a practical one for me like a van or a station wagon. Something to put packages and groceries into and drive around. I am 16 now so I should be legal age to drive a car. Lois and I celebrated my birthday before she left. If I can drive a tractor and a truck in the country, why not a car? What's the difference?" When Linda walked into Betty's apartment, she told her, with a genuine smile, as she set down the bags she was carrying. "You have a very nice apartment, Betty. Do these stores send out coupons or anything? I should save some money when I go shopping. I notice the postcards and the artwork. May I assume you have grandchildren who loves you vert much? You are lucky to have them. The only one I have now is Lois. Everyone else I knew and loved are dead now. If anything happens to her......" Tears began to come down from Linda's eyes fearing a horrible, lonely future for her.
  6. "Why thank you for the compliment, Betty. I hope some boy may speak to me but I am a bit shy around them and not sure what to do." Linda then added. "I'll be glad to help you carry the heavier things. At the farm, I got used to carry a lot of heavy stuff. It built up my muscles. Why, before this disaster, I could easily lift up the back of a car so someone could fix a flat. Haven't tried it here though. I can easily climb any tree and out run and out wrestle any boy in a friendly competition. I was great with a sling shot. My pa and ma called me an Annie Oakley with it. I wonder if I could buy one here in this city?" "While shopping with you, Betty, I can start noticing the stores around here. I didn't want to do this on my own alone. Also, where is the high school? I don't know where it is and how far away it is. I'm kind of lost here now. Where I used to live, I knew everywhere like the back of my hand. This city is too huge and confusing to me. I feel so small and insignificant in it now. I'm just a poor, mix up country girl who is totally helpless now." "Thank you for the kind invitation to dinner, Betty. That is so very nice of you to ask me. Would you like me to help you to cook it? I'll be most happy to help carry your groceries to your apartment. I did pick everything up that fell and cleaned everything. If you have trouble walking, I can lift you up and carry you. It would be no trouble at all for a farm, country girl like me."
  7. "That would be wonderful to meet other people, Betty. Also, when we go shopping, maybe you can help me to pick out some suitable clothes. A friend of Lois gave me some very nice, formal attire and shoes but I don't want to wear those except for special occasions. Perhaps, you can come with me too so I can deposit some money and a certified check at the same bank where Lois has hers in. I really should open up a savings and checking account for myself since I will be living here in Metropolis." Linda paused and the remarked in a timid voice. "If the bad guys go out in the dark, then I won't." The teen thought to herself in her head but Power Girl will. I could do my first patrol tonight when it is dark so I won't be noticed by anyone. The teen then went on. "I sure hope I can assist you using my statuesque, 6'3" height, Betty. Sometimes I wonder how tall and busty I will be. I think I 'm still growing. That is why I feel that I'm some sort of freak. Linda paused and spoke in a straightforward voice as she pushed her glasses up her nose. "Do you think I'm ugly?" Linda Lee Kent looked like a dark haired, most attractive, very busty, extremely tall, teen, fashion supermodel wearing everything perfectly to everyone who saw her.
  8. "Nerd???", repeated Linda a bit confused. "Is that a slang word? I fear slang words and phrases confuses me. Why can't people say precise and concise words when they want to say or write something. What happened to proper English, Betty? I was always taught at school to speak properly. I would deeply appreciate it if someone would kindly let me borrow instrument to play on. I would return it immediately, of course. I do hope that I will fit in there, Betty. What should I wear? I don't have too many choices. Also, I will be more than happy to help you shopping and assist you in your errands. Being quite tall, I can always get items off the top shelves. It might safer too if the the two of us go together in this city. I was told that all cities are dangerous and crime filled. A lone female is quite easily attacked and murdered for her belongings. She can be raped and murdered. Part of me just wants to stay here and hide. This is not the small country town where I used to live. This is the big city which is filled with dangerous criminals and ruthless murderers. The police are utterly helpless against them." Linda stated and acted like in a total meek and mild mannered teenage girl who was not at all used to the big, strange city life and feared the very unknown just by herself.
  9. "Perhaps, I would enjoy that very much, Betty. I was in some plays in my high school before that horrible disaster. Secondary and character roles. One was even a musical. You know dancing in a school musical is different than a barn dance. I would love to take part in that workshop if that is okay with you. It's better than being alone here all the time. The trouble is though, all my musical instruments were lost. I got nothing. Also, what if they laugh at me because I'm very tall. And...ummm.. I have extremely huge....ummmm...talents. Won't the boys laugh at them? Make fun of me?" The extraordinary, beautiful Linda Lee Kent waited for an answer with a most concern and nervous look on her face. She never met other young people her age yet. She was a kind of a misfit and an outcast here. This wasn't 1932 Smallville. Every Earth, and time period, was different. She still hadn't really taken over her duties as Power Girl to take cover for the missing Superman of this Earth. Still, it would be good to meet and make friends at this theater group. Maybe a few of them goes to Metropolis High and they could show her around and introduce her to others.
  10. "Yes, I just came back recently but I had time to clean this entire apartment up perfectly until everything was completely neat and tidy. Some people called me a kind of female Felix Unger from "The Odd Couple". I really do hate messes. I do know how to cook also pretty well thanks to my mother before she died. Anyway, I didn't know about you, Betty. Please forgive me for startling you so much. I heard the door trying to open up. I imagined it that it could be a mad killer like The Joker or somebody. We didn't have anybody like that in my small, country town where I came from where everyone knew everyone. I was a member of the 4-H Club, Girl Scouts, did farmwork, played expertly on the piano, banjo, fiddle and the guitar. I loved the hayrides and the square dancing, listening to the classics and the Big Band music. I also sang in the church choir and was I always had the best grades in school. I love school! I want to learn everything there. It's like I thirst for knowledge constantly. I know it sounds weird, Betty, but it is true. I want to go to Metropolis High but I fear that would be a misfit. I'm very tall, a small town, country girl and, if it wasn't for Lois, I would be an orphan. Everyone I know I know is dead for a horrible, natural disaster. I'm the sole survivor of it." Linda dropped her head in a depressed manner and began to sob quietly. "I'm so alone in the world. I wish that I would have died too."
  11. Linda gave the woman a friendly smile and spoke to her in a calming voice. "Please don't worry for I won't hit you with this frying pan. Although, I know how to use one if I have to. I've seen how Jessica Rabbit and Rapunzel use it in the movies. Also, my mother, before she died, taught me how to use it to defend myself if a threatening stranger shows up at the door wanting to do me harm. What you did though was trip over the table and hit the wall with the back of your head. My name is Linda Lee Kent. Lois recently celebrated my 16th birthday with me. Now, who are you maam? I do not know you and I was told there are a lot of dangerous thieves and killers in this city ready to attack anyone. It's not like where I came from in a very small, quiet town where everyone knew everyone."
  12. Seeing this, Linda put the frying pan down on the dining table and quickly examined her using her super vision and super hearing. Other than a slight bump on her head, this stranger of a woman was in good health for her age. Linda then easily lifted her up and carried her to the couch where she laid her down. After that, she got a cold ice compact and put it on the bump on the woman's head to make sure it wouldn't swell up. The tall, lovely teenage girl then went through the lady's purse and bag for identification purposes and to see what she brought in. She also scanned her clothes with her super vision for any clues too. Linda wanted to learn all about her before she woke up. Of course, she totally cleaned up the mess this woman made in seconds making all was neat, clean and tidy and as if nothing happened at all over there. She then sat down in a nearby chair, with the frying pan in hand, and waited for this woman to wake up for questioning. It would better for this lady to see Linda Lee Kent rather than Power Girl. She would to act and behave like a normal, human teenage girl afraid of an unknown someone breaking in and going to harm her and steal things. Linda made sure though the door was locked and secured so there wouldn't be a quick escape for this person until her questioning and answers. (OOC - What did Linda learn about this woman after going through her purse and bag. Did she have any identification? What was in her purse and in the bag? Any weapons or anything dangerous? What kind of keys were on the key ring? Could Linda identify them? She has been to Gotham City and have known crime fighting detectives on other Earths. What can she deduce from all of this?)
  13. Linda had a habit and it was she was a neat and orderly freak. She began cleaning the apartment once she came in. You never knew when company would drop in unannounced. Linda didn't stop until everything was perfect, orderly and utterly clean from top to bottom from one end to the apartment to the other. She was never satisfied until it was a job well done. She went over all the mail next sorting out what was important and what wasn't. Bills were important but ads weren't. Although, she saved the food and restaurant coupons for they may be used by her. She retrieved all the mail from the downstairs hallway postbox and went through them after returned to the apartment. Linda made sure she locked the door once more. Security was important here in the city. It wasn't like a small country town like Smallville, Kansas in 1932. Here in Metropolis people have to lock up their cars, houses and businesses. Criminals just love to break in and steal things. On the phone, Linda deleted all the sale pitches and ads but kept the two messages from Perry White for Lois. She was about to contact Lois on her phone concerning Perry White's phone messages and the bills, and wondered who brought in the mail here since she wasn't here, when she heard the jingling keys in the door. She used her super vision and noticed the frumpy woman with the pink cardigan, flowered dress and the flat navy shoes and the bag. Linda got a large flat frying pan from the kitchen and, after this strange woman set down the bag and her keys, Linda addressed her in an authority, loud, commanding voice. "FREEZE. Who are you? I do not like trespassers and thieves. You are in Lois Lane and Clark Kent apartment. I am Linda Lee Kent and Lois Lane adopted daughter. I do not know you." The teenage, 6'3", Linda raised the large frying pan. "Identify yourself and answer my questions. If not, I will El Kabong you with this frying pan. It will definitely hurt you quite a bit. I will then call the police and they will take you to jail for breaking and entering."
  14. I always considered it at the same time, same Earth and same universe unless someone informs me differently. I thought I can only play in one thread.
  15. I waited long enough. Carolyn, in my opinion, quit with no explanation whatsoever. My character Power Girl is back at "Worlds Collide". Please have Lois Lane return there. Linda would like to attend high school and get a part time job at the Daily Planet. I am tired of waiting and doing nothing. It's not fair to me who really want to be active here as a player.
  16. Kara flew back to Metropolis at super speed and landed at a nearby vacant alley to the apartment building where Lois and Clark apartment was located making sure she wasn't seen by anyone. Clark hasn't lived there in along time since he vanished as Superman years ago in space when he left Earth. He was probably dead Kara could only assume since he never returned and continued as the President of the United States. It was Linda Lee Kent who emerged from the alley, with her luggage, and entered the apartment building. She took the elevator up to the right floor and unlocked the door to the apartment and went in. She was glad to be back. Linda Lee Kent still had plan to attend high school and now she has all the documents, and more, that she needed. Also, she had a duty to perform which was to take the place for Superman here in Metropolis. Linda decided to check the mail and the phone calls for Lois. Contact her if anything was important.
  17. (Way too fast!!!! It's at a dead stop! I'm pulling my character out of here now because I waited long enough. This is a dead RP! I am putting my character back to Lois Lane's apartment at "When Worlds Collide". I am bored and considering leaving here entirely. Carolyn just got up and quit with no warning whatsoever. No explanation. I want to roleplay here now. I waited long enough. My patience is at an end. Just did a new post as Power Girl at "Worlds Collide". Please come back as Lois Lane."
  18. (Thank you for checking up on this. I really can't stand doing nothing in a RP due to inactivity of someone who is vital in the game. I miss the days when I sat around the table playing AD&D with several people. We played around 5 to 8 hours straight having pizza, munchies and drinks. We got together a few times a week for sometimes one adventure. I wish we could do this here with a group of true active players who enjoy taking part in the RP. I will wait awhile longer but then I am moving my character back to Lois apartment so Kara, as Linda Lee Kent, will attend high school and live a life in Metropolis. She is Superman's replacement. Either that or have her attend Smallville High and live in Smallville in a rebuilt Kent home and farm.)
  19. (OOC - It is now January 9. 2024. I can only deduce that this RP is dead and the Moderator has no interest in it at all. I would like to RP and continue but I cannot without Carolyn who is the Moderator. It seems to me that she quit without a good reason or notifying anyone that she was leaving. She didn't inform me at all. I am considering moving my character to Lois apartment and attending high school in my own story.)
  20. Linda Lee Kent, as Batgirl, slightly tilted her head being a bit confused. "I thought Aeron mentioned that Marva was your friend, not an enemy, Harry. Which is he? If he is an enemy, can Marva be reasoned with? Why is he then your friend? Is he both? Why does he have a vendetta against you, Harry? Can you make peace and a truce with him? Is good or evil?" The Kryptonian teen turned to Aeron. "Should we get large blessed crosses and holy water to stop these Black Court Vampires, Aeron? Maybe something that would cause a lot of artificial sunlight? Are these fae, demons and vampires all friends or enemies? Would they fight one another? Would it help if I fly to Vatican City for something against these vampires?" She then spoke to Bruce. "Mr. Wayne, what exactly can I do here to help here? You told me to follow your orders and I'm beginning to feel that I'm way over my head here. I have never fought against fae, demons and vampires before. I'm not sure what to do in this situation. As I admitted to you, I am quite vulnerable to powerful magic. Am I vulnerable to these Black Court Vampires? Can one of them make me a vampire? I am wearing a blessed crucifix around my neck and a holy medallion to the Blessed Mother. Would they attack me since I am wearing these things? What can I do here to help anyone? Do you just want me to just hide here and not do anything at all? I would like to do something positive here." (OOC - It is 5 days now with no answer for this post. I do enjoy a much quicker pace of game. I don't mind 2 or 3 posts a day between us. It used to be like that when I first joined here some years ago.) (OOC - It is now Dec. 20th. Why did this RP stop? You could try a much more simpler scenario instead of one too complex and complicated. )
  21. "I'm quite fast and I can fly at super speed, Aeron and Harry.", spoke up Linda. "Perhaps, I can assist you in bringing Mavra here. Question is is this Batgirl attire friction proof, indestructible and invulnerable? If not, I might as well wear my Kryptonian garb for this mission. I would love wearing the Batgirl outfit you gave me Aeron but I would hate to see it destroyed. I wanted to use it to fight crime and help The Batman here in Gotham City. I considered it special since you gave it to me, Aeron. Again, thank you very much for it. I truly wish I could use it properly here. I'm not sure if it's demon, fae or living dead proof. Also, do these demons and fae have any weaknesses at all? Are they able to fly? How fast can they fly? Are all fae evil? I always thought that they were good according to the stories I heard. Aren't fae like 1 to 3 inches tall or something? Wouldn't it be easier to clip their wings and put them in a glass bottle since they are so tiny and then they can't escape. That way, they can't harm us. I would like to know though is how does one stop the walking dead like zombies and other things? I don't have a code against killing but I sure don't want to start something so horrible. There must be some other options. Also, what about the public out there? How safe are they? How long will this dead be rising and roaming about? Will these iron gates prevent them from roaming and leaving will they are buried? Why are they rising from their graves now?"
  22. "You fought a demon, Harry?", queried Linda. "What did it look like? Did it have magical powers? Could one harm me seriously? Is this the same nasty beast Alfred was talking about? How can we defend ourselves from one or more of them? Did it tell you anything before Aeron slay it? Did it use magic on Aeron or was it powerfully strong? Is there an army of them going to attack Gotham City? Something else?" She then asked him. "Is there anything I can help you with, Harry? I can be your hands and legs until you get better in health. You and Aeron both looked simply awful when I flew you inside the manor.
  23. Linda, as Batgirl, found herself extremely serious and quiet. She was not talkative at all especially when she carried Harry to his room and laid him on his bed. She wondered what kind of nasty beasts did this to Harry and Aeron. The two of them were quite strong magically and something terrible did this to them. She remained silent as Alfred bandaged the unconscious Harry. It was best not to disturb Alfred as he did this. Batgirl silently followed Alfred down the disused stairwell all the way to the old chapel. She observed Aeron just lying next to the altar and she felt guilty. Maybe she should've followed Aeron instead of Mr. Wayne to learn about her duties. If she did, maybe this wouldn't have happened to her. Linda did say some prayers though to God to heal Aeron. As Batgirl followed Alfred and Bruce to the Batcave, she asked Alfred. "Alfred, you are like a wise old sage with both great knowledge and wisdom. What are these nasty beasts exactly? What do they look like? Are they magical also considering the injuries to both Aeron and Harry? Non-magical but extremely strong? A combination of both? If they are not magical, I may have no problem in taking care of them. If they are magical.....we may have a problem." The Teenager of Steel paused and almost muttered. "Is it normal for a hero to have fear. To be afraid of a force that may harm you a great deal? I learned what it is like to be overconfident on that one Earth. What it is like to be totally defeated and in horrible anguish. Part of me would rather run away than to feel that way again. Still, I remember my cousin telling me that with any power comes responsibility and with super powers comes with super responsibilities. What is the secret of bravery and courage, Mr. Wayne and Alfred? The two of you don't seem to show any fear at all. What do we do against these nasty beasts that seem to defeat both Harry and Aeron so easily? I fear that if they are extremely powerful in magic, that I would only have the courage of the Cowardly Lion of OZ. I truly would need a Wizard to fix that."
  24. Linda, in her Batgirl attire, did hear Aeron desperate cry for help and she immediately used her super visions. "Both Aeron and Harry are hurt just outside the manor. They need first aid and medical attention, Mr. Wayne. Please alert Alfred about this. I'll bring them into the manor." The Kryptonian teen paused and then stated firmly. "This is a job for..... Batgirl." With that, she flew up the stairs, at a blurring speed, out the doors and outside. There, she easily found them, due to the glowing circle above Aeron and Harry, and, in a shape of a huge bat, picked them up with ease and flew the two back into the manor. "Mr. Wayne. Alfred. Where should I put them? They both need help and your attention. Would you like me do anything else to help them or you?"
  25. "Mr. Wayne", began Linda. "If I am to be Batgirl, perhaps you should show me these sensors and how they work. If I have to take orders from you, then I should know these things as well as others. Perhaps, a tour of the Batcave since I am now on the team as Batgirl. You can tell me what my duties are. Where I should change my attire?" "I didn't mean upset Alfred. I was only trying to be nice when I mentioned that I would fly him to London. Can it really be rebuilt at all? Weren't there any superheroes around at all in the 1960's at this time? Where was Wonder Woman? It is hard to believe that there are no superheroes at all on this Earth."
